Polymeric Nanocomposites for Environmental and Industrial Applications

Abstract: Polymeric nanocomposites (PNC) have an outstanding potential for various applications as the integrated structure of the PNCs exhibits properties that none of its component materials individually possess. Moreover, it is possible to fabricate PNCs into desired shapes and sizes, which would enable controlling their properties, such as their surface area, magnetic behavior, optical properties, and catalytic activity. The low cost and light weight of PNCs have further contributed to their potential in various env… Show more

“…The heating efficiency is influenced by several factors, such as magnetic behaviors, the conditions of a magnetic field, the size of nanoparticles and the coating layer. Therefore, using an appropriate way for reaching the target temperature when synthesizing the magnetic nanoparticles is necessary [ 34 , 35 ]. The maximum expected SAR values matched the size between 70 and 100 nm [ 36 ].…”

“…Inorganic nanofillers such as nanoclays, metal-oxide nanoparticles, carbon nanomaterials, and metal nanoparticles, can be introduced into a polymer matrix to create a PNC with better properties for a specific application [18,19]. Polymer nanocomposites have gained scientific prominence due to their broad range of applications in environmental remediation and treating various environmental challenges [16,20].…”

“…Nanoparticles (NPs) are microscopic particles with a dimension of less than 100 nm [ 6 ], studied in the nanotechnology field. These MNPs are an exciting class of metal oxides that an external field can magnetize; they also have some electrical conductivity, closely related to EMI resistance’s effectiveness [ 7 ]. That is why using polymeric nanocomposites reinforced with MNPs represents a great advantage for aerospace applications.…”
