“…Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is one of the most powerful noninvasive medical imaging techniques with good spatial resolution and high sensitivity, offering superior 3D details and topographic information on soft-tissue contrast ( Chan and Wong, 2007 ; Taboada et al, 2007 ; Xiao et al, 2023 ). To increase the signal-to-noise ratio of information acquired from normal tissues and tumors, it is necessary to use contrast agents ( Aime et al, 2009 ).…”

“…The FT-IR and 1 H NMR spectra of the freeze-dried KGM hydrogel were obtained by Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (Bruker 400 MHz), respectively. 36 The hardness, springiness, cohesiveness, and resilience of the hydrogels were measured on a texture analyzer using a flat-bottomed column probe (P/35) with a diameter of 35 mm; the testing parameters were as follows: mode, PA; pretest rate, 1 mm s −1 ; test rate, 1 mm s −1 ; post-measured rate, 1 mm s −1 ; compression, 50%; stop interval, 5 s; data set rate, 200 pps; and trigger value, 5 g. Some key definitions are as follows: the hardness is the first compression when the sample achieves the set deformation and the pressure, which indicates the strength characteristics of the gel structure system under pressure; the springiness is the degree of recovery of the sample after the first compression, depending on the gel state of the entire system; the cohesiveness is the relative resistance of the sample to the second compression after the first compression deformation, reflecting the difficulty of destroying the internal forces of the sample; the resilience is the ability of the sample to bounce back during the first compression. For the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) study, the lyophilized KGM hydrogel was cut into small pieces and treated by gold spraying for observation.…”

“…Besides physical encapsulation, AIE-active small molecules are chemically conjugated to the amphiphilic copolymers and self-assembled into nanoprobe. Xiao et al synthesized amphiphilic block copolymer covalently conjugated with a two-photon AIE probe (TPBP) and magnetic resonance contrast agent Gd-DOTA ( Figure 3 B) [ 44 ]. In aqueous condition, this copolymer formed self-assembled nanoparticles of about 20 nm, which can be circulated in blood for a long time.…”
