Abstract: Polydaktylia -In remembrance to Eurohippus messelensis -a case reportPolydactilia occurs seldom but is a prime example for atavisms and therefore a sign of gradual evolutionary change. The difference between poly-and schistodactyly, the features of atavistic polydactyly as well as possible causes are addressed.
