Poly(anthranilic acid) Microspheres: Synthesis, Characterization and their Electrocatalytic Properties

Abstract: Poly(anthranilic acid) was synthesized by rapid mixing method using 5-sulphosalicylic acid as a dopant. The synthesized polymer was characterized by various techniques like FT-IR, UV-Visible, and X-ray diffraction etc., The FT-IR studies reveal that the 5-sulphosalicylic acid is well doped within the polymer. The morphological property was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopic technique. The electrochemical properties of the polymer were studied by cyclic voltammetric method. The synthe… Show more

“…Besides, the other peaks (14.8713, 17.8532, 19.0458, 21.4125, 21.9641, 25.0007, 26.0674, 29.9504, 33.7564, 51.3651 and 53.6692 o ) distinguish the involvement of the PANA polymer within the hybrid structure. 18 The pattern, also, displays a crystalline state of the rGO-MnO 2 -PANA as one can notice that from the sharpness of the peaks, rather than the manifested broad peak of the rGO-MnO 2 , Figure 6(b). However, the rGO presence has been clearly confirmed by SEM, which will be discussed later.…”

“…So, fabrication of PANI/ nanocomposite films for industrial scale may need employing harmful solvents in which turn rise environmental damage. 17,18 In this context, new strategies have been directed to synthesis flexible dielectric composites composed of PANI /nanofiller (rGO and/or Metal oxide) established with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a host. PVA using is counted on being a high transparency, anti-electrostatic properties, chemical resistance, good flexibility and capability of film forming.…”

“…Similar voltammograms were reported by Barbero et al (1993) and Pekmez, Pekmez, and Yildiz (1994) for polyaniline in acidic solution. The first peak represents the conversion of the polyleucoemeraldine radical cation into polyemeraldine base and the second to the reverse process (Suresh et al 2012). The anodic and cathodic peak potentials and the corresponding peak currents were influenced by the scan rate, showing the modified nanorods were electroactive and the electron transfer processes were diffusion controlled with charge transfer along the polymeric nanostructures.…”

“…The polymerization of 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl) aniline was carried out by interfacial polymerization, following a procedure reported previously for the synthesis of poly(anthranilic acid) [17][18][19]. Briefly, two solutions consisting of (a) 0.43 g of ammonium peroxodisulfate in 100 mL 0.25 M H2SO4 and (b) 0.36 g of 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl) aniline in 100 ml chloroform were prepared separately.…”
