Poly(1,2‐diaminobenzene) and poly(1,3‐diaminobenzene): Synthesis, characterization, and properties

Abstract: Poly(1,2-diaminobenzene) (1,2-DAB) and poly(1,3-diaminobenzene) (1,3-DAB) have been synthesized by using ammonium persulfate as oxidizing agent in the presence and in the absence of the following metal ion salts: CuCl 2 , NiCl 2 , and CoCl 2 with different HCl concentrations. The products showed a different content of the metal ion depending on the HCl concentration. The polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and electrical… Show more

“…Effect of PPD polymerization potential on the selectivity of Pt D /PPD-BSA The structure of PPD films and their mechanisms of formation are known to be complex, and have been studied in some detail by many authors [34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42]. The properties of PPD have been suggested to depend mainly on the conditions of the polymerization, such as pH, electrolyte composition, temperature and the applied potential.…”

“…A four-monomer extended chain form was drawn and configured using the geometry optimization module and a 'ladder' configuration for PPD forms [53][54][55][56][57]. An end-to-end projection onto the surface was used to estimate the transverse cross-sectional area of a polymer strand (∼0.074 nm 2 ).…”

“…For PANI, a paralinked linear chain structure was used, 53 whereas the 'ladder' configuration of PoPD was chosen. [54][55][56] An end-to-end projection onto the surface was used to estimate the transverse crosssectional area of a polymer strand; this allowed the calculation of an upper limit of the number of polymer molecules that could be arranged standing in a 'brush-like' 57 manner on the ECQM electrode. This number, together with the mass of each monomer unit, its length ( ~0.5 nm) and Dm for the polymer, was used to estimate the thickness of PoPD and PANI on the electrode surface.…”
