The concept of political behavior within organizations is a topic of research in a lot of fields, such as management, human resources, psychology, sociology. It is dealing with a type of informal behavior within an organization, meaning that such activities are not approved formally by the organization itself, but the individuals would still often undertake them in order to achieve personal interests or protect the interests of others. The main goal of this paper is to point out to the reasons of political behavior within a company, as well as the consequences of such behavior. A crucial importance will be given to the importance of political skills for increasing the control and power and influencing others to behave in accord with the goals of individuals or groups within such companies. Such skills have a very important role in terms of organizational changes, leadership and understanding organizational politics.

The Impacts of Servant Leadership and Organizational Politics on Burnout: A Research among Mid-Level Managers

Burnout, as a factor related to an individual's success, is defined as being exposed to behaviors that negatively affect performance and mainly refers to chronic stress. This research focuses on the effects of servant leadership on burnout through organizational politics. Data for the study were collected by survey method with participation of 401 employees from 49 different organizations. Obtained data were subjected to factor analysis with SPSS in order to check the internal consistency of the sample. Thereafter, by using AMOS software, confirmatory factor analysis were conducted and with structural equation modeling method research hypothesis of the study were tested. The results revealed that burnout was not emerged by servant leadership through organizational politics. Even though servant leadership is related to a change by creating a vision, this change process does not affect employees negatively because it comprises long-term plans and occurs spontaneously.

Background: Organizational politics within organizations, like the power around the manager, is broad and widespread, and managers consider political behavior as a part of organizational life that is inevitable, and on the other hand, the impact of ethics on social and especially political behaviors is undeniable. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to design and validate organizational policy indicators based on political ethics. Method: The method of the present study was integrated (qualitative and quantitative) and in terms of purpose was applied research. The qualitative section consisted of experts with experience in the field of political behavior who interviewed 11 people using purposive sampling. The texts of the interviews were also analyzed by coding method. In the quantitative part, the statistical population was the heads and experts of the Ministry of Interior (101 people). The sample size was selected based on Morgan and Krejcie table of 80 people by random sampling method. The research instrument was a completed questionnaire with 3 dimensions, 10 components and 99 indicators, the reliability of which was obtained by Cronbach's alpha test of 0.91. Structural equations with Smart Pls software were used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that the organizational, personal and job dimensions had (0.57, 0.44, 0.37) direction coefficient in the organizational policy model based on political ethics, respectively, and the research variables could be 0.66, the perception variable. Predict organizational policy based on political ethics. Also, the overall fit of the model was evaluated at a very high level (GOF = 0.59). Conclusion:The model of perception of organizational policy indicators based on political ethics with 3 dimensions and 10 components has a good fit and can be considered as a suitable model of political behavior in public and private organizations in Iran.
