“…13 It occurs through the time-dependent change of polarization of atoms or molecules induced by charge carriers moving in their proximity. The angular dependence for combination of polarizational and ordinary bremsstrahlung was calculated for metal clusters and fullerenes to be 14 ͓1−P 2 ͑cos ͔͒, where P 2 is the Legendre polynomial and is a factor depending on the characteristics of the projectile charge carriers and target atoms.…”

“…Koch and Motz [4], Pratt and Feng [5], Seltzer and Berger [6] and Pratt et al [7] have given the general reviews on the theory of OB. Tystovich and Ojringel [8], Korol and Solov'yov [9], Korol et al [10], Korol and Solov'yov [11] and Amusia [12,13] reviewed the theoretical and experimental studies of polarization bremsstrahlung in detail. The dynamic response of the target atom and the atomic dynamic polarizability is considered necessary for the calculation of PB amplitude.…”

“…In view of the new development of a quasi linear approach for describing the improved bremsstrahlung cross sections for OB and BS (OB+PB) by Avdonina and Pratt (1999), Korol et al (1997Korol et al ( , 2006 and Amusia et al (1988Amusia et al ( , 2006 for different targets over a range of electron energies for which no Monte Carlo Code is available, the present measurements of bremsstrahlung energy spectra for thick targets of Al, Ti, Sn and Pb are undertaken for 35 S beta emitter. It is expected that the present measurements shall help to describe the formation of BS spectrum in thick target in comparison to various theoretical considerations in the photon energy region of 1 keV to 100 keV.…”
