Abstract: This work presents the novel concept of silicon germanium (Si1−xGex) asymmetric rib cross-slot waveguides (ACWGs) as a potential solution for sensing a wide range of atmospheric gases in the mid-infrared (MIR) region. The investigation focuses on the analysis of Si1−xGex ACWGs, which encompass both vertical and horizontal slots.
