Abstract:BACKGROUND: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a head and neck cancer that arises from the nasopharyngeal epithelium. It is one of the most common malignancies in Southeast Asia. In 2020, there were 133,354 new cases of NPC worldwide, with 113,659 occurring on the Asian continent (85.2%). In Indonesia, the prevalence of NPC is 6.2/100,000 people, with 13,000 new cases each year.
