“…Among the top 10 enriched proteins in exosomes (colored red in Figure 1C), we found five endosomal pathway regulators (PDCD6IP, SDCBP, ANXA11, TSG101, and VPS37B) which are pivotal for exosome biogenesis, and CD63, a widely known exosomal tetraspanin marker. LGALS3BP has been found in diverse cancer-derived exosomes (Escrevente et al, 2013;Ung et al, 2014;Dutta et al, 2015;Gomes et al, 2015;Song et al, 2021), and APOE has been found in exosomes released from macrophages (Zheng et al, 2018) and neurons (Nikitidou et al, 2017;Mathews and Levy, 2019;Peng et al, 2019). This comparative analysis shows that our classification pipeline can successfully categorize proteomic datasets and suggests that systematic analysis of published proteomic studies is a valuable approach for discovering novel markers for ectosome and exosomes.…”

“…Lectin Galactoside-Binding Soluble 3 Binding Protein Elevated levels of lectin galactoside-binding soluble 3 binding protein (LGALS3BP) in serum or tumor tissue are known to be associated with shorter survival in patients with breast, non-small cell lung, and endometrial cancers, lymphoma, and malignant pleural mesothelioma [59,60]. Song et al [60] recently found that LGALS3BP in plasma exosomes from patients with endometrial cancer induces tube formation and that exosomes containing LGALS3BP overexpressed in human embryonic kidney 293 cells upregulate VEGF expression, in human endothelial cell lines and primary endothelial cells.…”

“… 145 Exosomal lectin galactoside-binding soluble 3-binding protein (LGALS3BP) was detected in exosomes isolated from the plasma of endometrial cancer patients and was upregulated with endometrial cancer progression, promoted the growth of endometrial cancer cells and facilitated the angiogenesis of HUVECs. 146 The nucleic acids and proteins carried by exosomes may be involved in the progression of endometrial cancer.…”
