Abstract: Em dezembro de 2019, com a eclosão da epidemia pelo novo coronavírus, em Wuhan, na China, e diante do risco de rápida disseminação para outros países, instituiu-se alerta internacional para uma possível pandemia, que veio a ser confirmada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), em março de 2020.
