The study determined the content of lycopene in the fruits of the Elaeagnus umbellata (35.25–60.21 mg/100 g), common at different heights above sea level in Western Georgia. For the effective extraction of lycopene as a biologically active substance, the optimal conditions for ultrasonic extraction were selected: sunflower oil was used as a “green solvent”; the ratio of solid mass and solvent was 1:50; temperature 30°C; ultrasound amplitude 40%; power 85 W; and extraction time 10 min. FTIR spectra revealed the characteristic functional groups of lycopene exhibiting two characteristic peaks at 2920 and 2950 cm−1. To explore the effect of lycopene on oil quality, the acid value, peroxide value, and p‐anisidine were determined in each oil sample. The antioxidant determination by inhibition of DPPH radicals showed significant differences in native oils and oils with lycopene.

In recent decades, Iran has been facing severe water deficiency. In all countries, industrial plants are the most water-consuming sectors; thus, industrial wastewater treatment is always a essential subject. Nitro-Toluene derivatives are extensively used in industries, especially the military industry, which itself has an abundant share in industrial wastewater contamination. These compounds are extremely dangerous for living beings and can have irreparable effects, so eradication of them in industrial wastewater is necessary. Photocatalytic processes are one of the particular approaches in industrial wastewater treatment from the advanced oxidation processes subdivision. One of the prominent and most widely used photocatalysts in this process is Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) . This research aims at the investigations for the modification of TiO2/Bentonite (TB) catalysts for attaining more economical saving and degradation stabilization conditions. To achieve this goal, the Bentonite and TiO2 photocatalyst was synthesized by a co-precipitation procedure, and its catalytic activity on Para Nitro-Toluene (PNT) degradation was examined. The designed TB photocatalyst is made of 5, 10 and 20 % of TB. A suspension reactor and the spectrophotometry was applied for specifying the extent of the degradation. Characterization of modified catalyst was conducted by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The results highlight that with increasing TiO2 percent, degradation rate augmented, and the highest degradation was attained for TB 20% at 59%. However, Under the same conditions, for pure TiO2, the degradation rate is 64%, but with more TiO2 consumption and time. Finally, in order to further confirm the extent of the degradation, chemical oxygen demand (COD) test was performed on the TA 20 sample. The results showed that about 53% of PNT has been converted to minerals.

Research and Development for the Hurdle Avoidance During Transplanting Manipulation Based on Kinect Vision Processing

To avoid damage to plants during the transplanting process, a transplanting method based on the combination of the Kinect machine visual system and the low-damage transplanting end effector was proposed to reduce the damage to the stems and leaves from transplanting end effectors during the transplanting process. The inclined manipulator was designed can avoid the characteristics of the seedling itself during the transplanting process to avoid obstacles. Under the experimental condition, the oblique transplanting manipulator assisted by the Kinect vision processing system achieved 4.70% leaf damage, 16.70% stem bending, 83.45% substrate integrity, and the transplanting quality parameters were 87.36%. The completion time of a single transplant was 8.32±0.4 s, the results proved that the low-damage transplanting manipulator based on the machine vision system can effectively reduce the damage rate of the stems and leaves. This obstacle avoidance transplant method can be extended to seedlings planted in 50 plugs. Research and development for hurdle avoidance during transplanting manipulation based on Kinect vision processing can provide theoretical support for future obstacle avoidance transplantation.
