“…The people of these two tribes use the leaves of the plant to impart both color and flavor to fish and meat curries and also in some non-vegetable dishes. [20] Continuing our work on nutritionally and medicinally important indigenous plants of northeast India, [10,21] here we studied the antioxidant and antidiabetic potential of methanol, 95 % ethanol and hot water extracts of these three food plants -Sarcochlamys pulcherrima, Ipomoea aquatica and Zanthoxylum rhetsa prevalent in this region along with the determination of their total phenolic contents, total flavonoid contents and identification of the active components based on LC/MS.…”
