“…The 2D GIXD revealed that the solvent-induced TES-ADT crystals had a triclinic structure with the following unit-cell: a = 14.78 Å, b = 6.91 Å, c = 16.68 Å, α = 92.1°, β = 96.4°, γ = 105.9°. 22 As shown in Figure 9, the crystal orientations of TES-ADT on the dielectric series were affected by the R q and σ of the gPS layers. On the 8 and 26 kDa gPSSiO 2 dielectrics containing smooth and compact polymer brushes (σ ≥ 0.1 chains nm −2 ), the TES-ADT crystallites were preferentially oriented along the surfaces, while on the 108 and 135 kDa gPS systems with rough and course polymer layers (σ ≈ 0.03 chains nm −2 ) they were less-oriented, as indicated by the Debye rings scattering at Q (see Figure 9c and d).…”

“…Pentacene thin films grown on a COC/ZrO x dielectric surface showed [00l] reflections along the outof-plane (q z ) axis and did not show ½00l * reflections along the Debye ring, suggesting the presence of an orthorhombic thin-film phase rather than a triclinic bulk phase [26,42,43]. Along the inplane (q xy ) axis, the reflections of {1, ±1}, {0,2}, and {1, ±2} indicated a herringbone in-plane molecular packing with a primitive or centered rectangular unit cell [26,42,43]. Thermally annealed PTCDI-C13 thin films grown on a COC/ZrO x dielectric surface exhibited [00l] out-of-plane reflections that correspond to a d- spacing of 26.4 Å, which agrees well with the results from AFM analysis.…”

“…Thermally annealed PTCDI-C13 thin films grown on a COC/ZrO x dielectric surface exhibited [00l] out-of-plane reflections that correspond to a d- spacing of 26.4 Å, which agrees well with the results from AFM analysis. In addition, the PTCDI-C13 thin films exhibited many strong reflections along the q z axis at given q xy positions, which means that PTCDI-C13 crystals formed three-dimensional multilayered structures [29,40,43]. All of these results strongly suggest that both the pentacene and PTCDI-C13 molecules were grown on COC/ZrO x dielectric surfaces with favorable crystalline structures for efficient charge transport in OFETs, similar to previous reports of hydrophobic SAM or polymeric surfaces [26,29,40,42e44].…”
