“…The valence band of ZnAl 2 O 4 consists of the hybridization of 2p orbitals of O 2− and 3d orbitals of Zn 2+ , as the conduction band is 2p and s orbitals of Al 3+ . As can be concluded, from individual and CuAl 2 O 4 comparison studies, Zn physical properties allow hydrogen‐bonded surface water molecules and hydroxyl groups to be adsorbed at its surface due to its higher specific surface area . In contrary to what would be theoretically expected, Zn aluminate provided more active and acid sites, showing higher photocatalytic activity during the RhB degradation photocatalytic process compared with Cu.…”
