“…Nanomaterials are tiny particles with size distribution less than 100 nm. In the last decades, various types of nanomaterials have attracted the attention of many researchers in photocatalysis (Pan et al, 2021), electrocatalysis (Zhang et al, 2021a), photoelectrocatalysis (Hu et al, 2020;Zhao et al, 2020;Huang et al, 2021), solar utilization (Jiang et al, 2020), heat management (Zhang et al, 2021b) and other fields because of their unique properties (Wang et al, 2019;He et al, 2020). Among the numerous materials, Au represents one well-studied type (Xu et al, 2016) with tunable shape (Zhu et al, 2015), structure (Ma et al, 2015), and composition (Jiang et al, 2017).…”

“…Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting is considered as one of the most promising routes for using solar energy to produce H 2 and providing a sustainable energy supply. 1,2 TiO 2 has been commonly used as a photoanode material to produce hydrogen because of its high resistance to photocorrosion in aqueous medium, suitable band-edge positions for water oxidation and easy availability. 3 However, the high charge recombination in both bulk and surface of TiO 2 photoelectrodes produces great limitations on its photoconversion efficiency.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Polymeric quaternary ammonium compounds have historically been the most important and extensively used cationic polyelectrolytes with linear and star-like structure. [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DMDAAC) has high charge density, good water solubility, low toxicity, and low price and is one of the most used cationic monomers. Poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)(PDMDAAC) is a cyclic polycation, which has been widely used in many industrial and biological applications, such as flocculant in wastewater treatment, biocatalyst agents in biological, antimicrobial biocide, medical, food applications, and layer-bylayer assembly.…”
