Photoreactions of 2-allyloxyacetophenone

Abstract: The photolysis of 2-allyloxyacetophenone in methanol produced 3-methyl-2-vinylbenzofuran, apparently by an intramolecular hydrogen abstraction, and 2-methoxyacetophenone by a nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction.
