Photochemie der Δ⁴‐Imidazolinone‐(2), I. Lichtreaktionen der 1.3‐Diacetyl‐Δ⁴‐imidazolinone‐(2)

Abstract

Im Gegensatz zu freien A4-Imidazolinonen-(2) addieren I .3-Diacetyl-imidazolinone-(2) verschiedene Sensibilisatoren. Wahrend das 4.5-Diphenylderivat (3c) nur Phenanthrenchinon addiert (11 c), liefern das 4.5-Dimethyl-(3b) und das unsubstituierte Derivat (3a) auch Addukte mit aromatischen Ketonen wie Benzophenon (4a. b) und mit Aldehyden (6a, b). 3a addiert u. a. Maleinsaureanhydrid (18b) und wird durch Carbonylverbindungen mit einer Phosphoreszenzenergie ET von uber ca. 74.5 kcal/Mol cyclodimerisiert (17a). ET von 3a wurde zu 71.4 kcal/Mol ermittelt.Das Verhalten von Tmidazolinonen im Licht ist bisher nur am Beispiel des 4.5-Diphenyl-A4-imidazolinons-(2) nnd seiner Derivate untersucht worden, die stark fluoreszieren und deshalb als optische Aufheller schon friih technisches Interesse fanden. Bereits 1941 IieB sich die damalige IG-Farbenindustrie das Natriumsalz der 4.5-Diphenyl-A4-imidazolinon-(2)-di-sulFonsiiure unter der Bezeichnung Blankophor WT patentieren 1). Seither sind Substanzen dieser Art vor allem als Aufheller in photographischem Material und fur ahnliche Zwecke verwendet worden 2-6), Nach unseren Untersuchungen scheinen Aufhellerqualitaten und photochemische Aktivitat gegensatzliche Eigenschaften einer Substanz zu sein, denn das Diphenylimidazolinon erwies sich gerade als die reaktionstragste der untersuchten Verbindungen. Freie ImidazolinoneAls Typen von A4-Imidazolinonen-(2) wurden die Verbindungen 1 ac bearbeitet.Die 4.5-disubstituierten Imidazolinone lassen sich durch Kondensation der entsprechenden Acyloine (Acetoin bzw. Benzoin) mit Harnstoff gewinnen 73) ; das photochemisch interessan-1 ) IG Farben (Erf. R. Rob1 und K. Jahrg. 100 tere unsubstituierte A4-Imidazolinon-(2) wird durch Addition von Cyanslure an Aminoacetaldehyd-diiithylacetal und nachfolgende Verdunnungs-Cyclisierung des erhaltenen Ureidoacetals in saurem Medium dargestellts).Die freien Jmidazolinone sind photochemisch kaum aktiv. Diphenylimidazolinon 1 c bleibt bei Belichtung rnit oder ohne Sensibilisatoren vollig unverandert. Imidazolinon l a bildet bei UV-Belichtung in Losung in geringen Ausbeuten Harze, in die Bestandteile des Losungsmittels (Essigsaure, Dimethylsulfoxid) eingebaut sind ; mit Maleinsaureanhydrid in Dimethylsulfoxid und Propiophenon als Sensibilisator wird u. a. ein Mischpolymerisat aus 1 a und Maleinsaureanhydrid erhalten. Erst bei langerer UV-Belichtung (durch Quarz) einer Wasser/Aceton-Losung wird 1 a quantitativ in ein nahezu farbloses Harz umgewandelt. Aus la in Methanol rnit Benzophenon als Sensibilisator wird neben Benzpinakol und Harzen rnit 3 % Ausbeute ein definiertes Produkt isoliert, dem aufgrund seines IR-und NMR-Spektrums moglicherweise die Struktur 2 zukommt.Angeregtes Benzophenon erzeugt in der methanolischen Losung Hydroxymethyl-Radikale 10-13, die sich vermutlich an die Doppelbindung des Irnidazolinons addieren ; Radikaldimerisation konnte zum dimeren Athylenharnstoff-Derivat fuhren. 1.3-Diacetyl-imidazolinoneInteressanter ist die Photochemie der 1.3-Diacetylderivate, die sich durch Acetylierun...

Synthesis and Characterization of 1,2,3,4-Cyclobutanetetranitramine Derivatives
