Photoassociative formation of ultracold RbCs molecules in the(2)3Πstate

Abstract: We have investigated photoassociative formation of RbCs molecules in the (2) 3 excited state correlated to v = 8, (5)0 + vibrational level in detail. The metastable ground-state RbCs molecules formed by spontaneous decay are ionized by pulsed dye laser through resonance-enhanced two-photon ionization. A rate equation of the photoionization process is introduced to explain the dependence of RbCs + molecular ion intensity on the ionization laser intensity. The saturation effect of molecular ion intensity appears… Show more

“…Recently a set of short-range PA resonances in RbCs was reported in [18][19][20][21]. The rotational constants correspond to an internuclear separation comparable to that at the bottom of the X 1 + potential well, thus making it possible that these states could have large Franck-Condon factors (FCFs) for decay to the X(v = 0) state.…”

“…2 shows the photoassociation spectrum of the short range molecule state, which was initially assigned to be v ¼ 8, ð5Þ0 þ of ð2Þ 3 Π state [26], but here replaced by ð4Þ0 À with other quantum numbers unchanged based on Ref. [27].…”

“…Most details of the apparatus have been described in our studies of ð2Þ 3 Π excited state 85 RbCs molecules in short range [26]. Here we only describe some key characters and new changes (see Fig.…”
