Photo-induced recovery, optical detection, and separation of noxious SeO32−using a mesoporous nanotube hybrid membrane

Abstract: A macroscopic-scale disc-like membrane capable of photo-induced recovery, optical detection, and separation of ultra-trace levels of SeO 3 2À was fabricated using a mesoporous TiO 2 -SiO 2 nanotube (TSN)-porous anodic alumina (PAA) hybrid. The synergistic pressure-assisted filling and condensed formation of TSN inside the entire PAA (200 nm channel neck size and 60 mm longitudinal length) were evident. This approach enabled fabrication of an optical, photo-induced macroscopic membrane sensor (MS) by direct emb… Show more

“…Different adsorbents such as metal oxides, activated carbons, resins, impregnated resins [26], metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) [27], nanocomposites and biosorbents have been reported for As removal [11,[28][29][30][31][32][33][34]. Cellulose support modified with grafting of amine groups has been used for the binding of copper and the metal-loaded sorbent was efficiently used for As(V) recovery [35][36][37][38]. Molybdate ions are well known for their affinity for arsenate and this interaction has been reported for developing analytical methods but also molybdate-impregnated sorbents that are highly efficient for As(V) recovery [39,40].…”

“…Fig. S1A shows the N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, which identified as type IV with an H1 hysteresis loop [41][42][43]. The pores distribution is investigated by nonlocal density functional theory model (NLDF), which promotes the pore size and pore volume of the constructed NLF.…”

“…Treatment of urban, industrial, and agricultural wastewater contaminated by various organic and inorganic pollutants is one of the main health priorities . So far, various chemical, biological, and physical methods, for example, adsorption, coagulation, photocatalytic degradation, and membrane filtration, have been used to remove organic pollutants, including dyes, from contaminated waters and wastewaters.…”
