Background: Breast milk is a prime source of nourishment and immunity of the baby. The concept of “Stanya Dushti” refers to the impact of diet and activities of a mother on quantity and quality. Sushruta describe that the pure milk is cold, clean or free from impurities, whitish yellow or white free from discoloration. If Stanya exhibits abnormalities in its color, smell, taste it will be impure and may be referred to as Dushta. This Stanya can’t provide nourishment and good health to child. Methodology: A 34 years old second gravida patient deliver an alive full term male child of weight 2.82 Kg. extracted as vertex presentation on 19/4/2023 by caesarian section. During breast feeding, she noticed that her milk was blackish in color and her child regurgitate this milk just after feeding, so she stopped breast feeding. On her complaint breast milk culture was advised which was found normal. She was treated with Stanya Shodhanagana Kashya for 3 days in the 20 ml dose BD. Result: Her breast milk appeared white only after 3 days of treatment and baby has not regurgitated milk again. Discussion & Conclusion: Stanya Shodhana Mahakashya includes 10 herbs - Patha, Shunthi, Devdaru, Musta, Murva, Guduchi, Vatsakphal, Kiratatikta, Katurohini & Sariva. Mainly its contents possess Tikta, Katu Rasa which has Deepana Pachan properties thus help in proper function of Agni & facilitate proper Ahara Pachan Kriya. Proper Utpatti of Rasadi Dhatu facilitates adequate Utpatti of Updhatu Stanya. So, it can be concluded that Stanya Shodhanagana Kashya is beneficial in improving the quality of breast milk as its name suggests.

Increased blood lipid profile (hyperlipidaemia) has been described as a significant risk factor, which is majorly responsible for making the coronary heart diseases more severe. Coronary heart disease, stroke, atherosclerosis and hyperlipidaemia are the primary cause of death. The increase in total cholesterol and total low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is described for its main risk factor, which is responsible for cardiovascular disease. The anti-hyperlipidemic drugs are used frequently for its lipids lowering potential to protect disorders which are induced by a condition like atherosclerosis. Still, these hypolipidemic agents also have various sorts of adverse events. Many plants and their derivatives and have been tested successfully for their anti-hyperlipidemic role. Almost 70 medicinal plants and more than this have been successfully screened for their significant anti-hyperlipidemic role. The significant increase observed in the use of medicinal plants in metropolitan regions of developed countries in the last decades. There are so many medicinal plants play a crucial role in lowering the blood lipid level. The most important advantage and popularity of traditional medicine system are because of effectiveness, safety, affordability and acceptability. This review focus on the anti-hyperlipidemic role of Avipattikar Churna and Triphala Churna used for the treatment of hyperlipidaemia.

Background In Ayurveda, “ Dashamoolarishta ” is one of the important composite herbal formulations. Mainly, the root and root bark of Oroxylum indicum are used as one of the ingredients in its preparation. This leads to over exploitation of medicinal plants owing, to excessive demand due to population expansion and its perceived importance in traditional herbal remedies. Objective For the conservation of biodiversity, the present investigation had an objective to prepare the extracts of different parts of O. indicum plant and to, compare the chemo-profiles as well as to study the biological activities of the prepared extracts. Materials and methods Hydro-alcoholic (HA) and aqueous (Aq) extracts of various plant parts were prepared and chemical investigation was done with the help of (LC-MS/MS). Further, in vitro biological activities such as immuno-stimulation (IS) using a cytokine bioassay in RAW264.7 and in vitro anticancer in TNF-α ELISA in THP-1 cells were studied. Results The mass spectral profile of the plant revealed the presence of markers such as oroxylin A and chrysin in HA and Aq extracts of stem, leaf, bark and root. Cytokine release and TNF-α secretion was observed in both hydro-alcoholic and aqueous extracts. Conclusion Based on the results from the present study, it can be concluded that it is possible to replace the roots and the bark of O. indicum with the stem of young plants and leaves. It paves a way for the conserving the medicinal plants without uprooting and extinguishing the whole plant.
