pH-responsive polymeric vesicles from branched copolymers

Abstract: A new type of branched copolymer, poly(l-lactide)2-b-poly(l-glutamic acid), based on polypeptide PLGA is synthesized by the ring-opening polymerization of N-carboxyanhydride of γ-benzyl-l-glutamate with amino-terminated PLLA2–NH2 and subsequent deprotection.

“…The former mainly includes polylactic acid (PLA), poly(butyleneadipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), modified starch, polybutylene succinate (PBS), etc. [ 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 ]. The main materials that can be decomposed in the natural environment are made by compounding polyolefin materials, such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and degrading additives.…”

“…sites such as tumors, microenvironment acidification is caused, the application of amino and tertiary amines in the field of drug carriers are promising. [43][44][45] Lang and co-workers successfully grafted amine-terminated ploy(N-isopropylacrylamide) onto poly(2-oxepane-1,5-dione-co-ɛ-caprolactone) to achieve the selfassembled core-shell micelles with biodegradability, thermal response, and pH-response properties. [46] Chen et al successfully developed poly(ethylene glycol)-b-(poly(2-(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)-b-poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate)-g-folic acid) 2 [PEG-b-(PDEAEMA-b-PHEMA-g-FA) 2 ] as a drug carrier, and achieved pH responsiveness owing to the protonation of the tertiary amino groups under acidic conditions.…”
