“…Elevated concentration of the latter elements in these glasses, as compared to their natural equivalents, is indicative of two facts: a continuous flow of these elements from the solid waste source and their incomplete evaporation in the course of melting process. The results of this research in association with previous work (Eighmy et al, 1994;Eusden et al, 1999;Koide and Yamashita, 2001;Sandell et al, 1996) demonstrate that the application of techniques used for the study of rocks and comparing such products (combustion residues) with their natural counterparts provides the most practical method to interpret the textural features, chemistry and mineral assemblages of the samples.…”
