Peroxiredoxin-1 as a prognostic factor in patients with ovarian cancer

Abstract: Introduction and objective. Peroxiredoxin-1 (PRDX-1) belongs to a family of antioxidant enzymes and has proved to be a versatile molecule regulating cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. PRDX1-regulated signaling pathways play an important role in the progression and metastasis of human tumours, especially in breast, esophageal and lung cancers. The aim of the study was to evaluate the expression of PRDX-1 in ovarian cancer tissues, and to test the clinical value of PRDX-1 as a prognostic factor in this … Show more

“…22 Additionally, Increasing number of studies have found that PRDXs affect the prognosis of patients with various types of tumors, including breast, liver, ovarian, and gastric cancers. [23][24][25][26] PRDX1, PRDX2, and PRDX6 have also been reported to be highly expressed in OSCC. [27][28][29] To date, few studies have investigated the relationship between the PRDX family and metastasis and prognosis of OSCC.…”

“…PRDX1 is a key protein that regulates many physiological processes for the development of various respiratory diseases, cancers, septic shock, and other diseases (Mq et al, 2019;Sieńko et al, 2019). The respiratory epithelium forms an important barrier against inhaled pollutants and microorganisms, and its barrier function is often compromised during inflammatory airway diseases (Olson et al, 2011).…”

“… 24 PRDX-1 expression in tumor tissue can be a biomarker for the prognosis of patients with OC. 25 Increased expression of TET3 predicts an unfavorable prognosis for OC patients. 26 Low expression of BCL7A is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with OC.…”
