Peritoneovenous shunt for pancreatic ascites

Abstract: A chronically ill patient with pancreatic ascites was successfully treated with a temporary LeVeen peritoneovenous shunt. This observation supports the use of a peritoneovenous shunt in the treatment of pancreatic ascites which is refractory to medical therapy and not amenable to major pancreatic surgery.
