Compared with the conventional catalytic strategy, photocatalytic strategy, electrocatalytic strategy, photoelectrocatalytic strategy, and disproportionation strategy, the catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH) is a very promising and fascinating strategy because it has a very high selectivity to CO bond hydrogenation, in which alcohols (especially secondary alcohols) are commonly employed as in situ hydrogen donors as well as green reaction solvents.
