Performance of LED lights installed on DKI Jakarta streets (Case study on Pattimura street & Satrio street, South Jakarta)

Abstract: This research analyzes the performance of LED lights installed on Pattimura street, which are in front of PW building, in front of Al-Azhar building, and in front of house compounds, and on Satrio street, which are in front of and across CityWalk Mall and across Ciputra World I building. The testing is done by measuring the illuminance (the unit is lux) with luxmeter on the measurement zone which has certain measurement points. The LED lights on Pattimura street have power of 237 watt, light distance of 50 met… Show more

“…This research discusses the outdoor lighting system. The results of this study indicate that LED lamps are not suitable to be implemented directly with existing light poles and the spacing specifications of the lamppost and the lack of planning in adjusting the spacing of light posts that varies between 40 meters to 52 meters [3]. Based on problems and related research, then to improve lighting quality, this study will design lighting systems in classrooms based on established standards using two calculation methods, namely the lumen method as a manual lighting calculation and the DIALux Evo 8.1 as software.…”

“…The results indicate the presence of uneven illuminance on the road surface, and less or excessive illumination according to the road lighting standards [3][4][5]. This study provides an overview of car drivers' perceptions to the road lighting, in relation to safety and clarity in identifying traffic signs and road markings.…”
