“…In previous studies, scholars have worked on SCND models considering various features, such as the flows of supply chains network (Ivanov et al , 2017), technology impact (Fard et al , 2017), number of stages (Srivathsan and Kamath, 2017), products’ characteristics (Coelho and Laporte, 2014), transportation (Cui et al , 2016), facilities’ features of manufacturer, supplier and distributor (Shafiee et al , 2014). “…SCND is a well-known problem in supply chain management (Eskandarpour et al, 2017), where the aim is to improve the flow of products between SC echelons (Badri et al, 2013). Several studies have addressed SCND considering different issues, such as product characteristics (Coelho & Laporte, 2014), number of echelons (Srivathsan & Kamath, 2017), network flows (Ivanov et al, 2017), transport (Cui et al, 2016), technologies (Fard et al, 2017), and characteristics of facilities (Shafiee et al, 2014). In the case of the tilapia fillet SCND, some features considered should include: (a) four echelons in the SC, these being suppliers, fish farms, slaughterhouses and demand points; (b) organic waste should be recycled in a waste processing industry; (c) forward flows start from suppliers to demand points, and reverse flow from the slaughter processing industry to waste processors.…”

“…Aydinliyim et al (2017) analysed the ideal structure of advertising an online retailer's inventory and pricing policy, in a two-period scenario -a regular selling period followed by a clearance period. Srivathsan and Kamath (2017) assessed how the advance in information technology facilitated information sharing in supply chain networks, resulting in effective management of the stock and storage capacity. Huang and Liu (2017) designed a smart two-stage retail forecasting system for new clothing products.…”
