Performance evaluation of chairlift ropes in two man-riding systems in an incline coal mine using a non-destructive testing instrument

Abstract: Electromagnetic non-destructive testing/evaluation is an important means for assessment of the performance of chairlift ropes in a mining installation. The visual method produces the possibility of inadequate inspection due to its subjectivity.Magnetic flaw detectors, which measure loss of metallic area (LMA) and detect local faults (LF), such as broken wires and other faults of the ropes, are used to determine rope wear.
