Performance Analysis of Unsupervised LTE Device-to-Device (D2D) Communication

Abstract: Cellular network technology based device-to-device communication attracts increasing attention for use cases such as the control of autonomous vehicles on the ground and in the air. LTE provides device-to-device communication options, however, the configuration options are manifold (leading to 150+ possible combinations) and therefore the ideal combination of parameters is hard to find. Depending on the use case, either throughput, reliability or latency constraints may be the primary concern of the service pr… Show more

“…With CAM message size of 800 bytes, it did not even reach the 100-ms delay limit (without optimizing some parameters). Also, with 10 UEs or more, it did not reach the most stringent PDR limit of 95% with any size of combinations [23]. It is hard to find the optimal configuration to the current situation.…”

“…If BLER of SCI is not being measured, then the assumed SCI must be set so that the receiver can assume knowledge of the SCI. There will be synchronization and extraction of each subframe of the PSCCH subframe pool [14]. Again SC-FDMA demodulation was applied.…”
