Performance Analysis of Downlink NOMA System over α-η-μ Generalized Fading Channel

Abstract: In this paper, we evaluate the performance of NOMA system in downlink scenario over a well-known generalized fading channel called α−η−μ in terms of the Average Bit Error Rate (ABER). The exact closed-forms of Average Bit Error Rate (ABER) for two NOMA users case are obtained in this work in order to study the significant of different fading parameters such as the non-linearity (α), the different power between the in-phase and quadrature components of the signal (η), and the amount of multipath clusters (μ). T… Show more

“…A partial interference overlap-based scheme for a NOMA DL system with η − µ fading channels has also been reported by the same group of authors in [17]. For a NOMA DL system with multiple users, average BER analysis considering α − η − µ fading channels has been reported by Alqahtani et al in [27]. A general expression for the user outage probability in a NOMA DL system with randomly deployed users has been obtained by Papanikolaou et al in [28].…”

“…In [32], closed-form BER expressions are derived for a two-user downlink NOMA-VLC system while considering a limited set of modulation orders for phaseshift keying (PSK), pulse amplitude modulation (PAM), and QAM. In addition, Alqahtani and Alsusa [37] derived exact closed-form BER expressions for a two-user case employing BPSK in flat fading channels that are modelled by α-η-µ fading distribution to study the significance of different fading parameters on the BER performance. Aldababsa et al [36] presented closed-form BER expressions for an arbitrary number of users employing BPSK in Rayleigh flat fading, assuming perfect SIC.…”
