Considering the importance of nutrients in the soil for the plants development and the soil quality conservation and the quantification relevance of them for proper soil management, the aims of this research were: (i) to quantify the clay loss, adsorbed and soluble P from interrill erosion influenced by the presence of sugarcane residues on the ground surface; (ii) to determine the minimum percentage of residues to be maintained on the soil surface to not enrich the eroded sediment by clay and soluble P (Psed) and adsorbed (Pads). The experimental area is located in Guariba -SP, with soil classified as Red Dystrophic Oxisol. The experiment was designed based on results of previous experiments with residue analysis of variance for 40 plots. These experiments were conducted by our research group, which provided field representation and the establishment of a minimum number of degrees of freedom necessary to ensure normal distribution of results and variance homoscedasticity. The experimental design was completely randomized in a factorial design, 5 treatments with straw sugarcane and 3 repetitions, totaling 15 plots. In the treatments, the straw was manually distributed across the surface of the soil in amounts of 0; 0.16; 0.35; 0.52 to 0.7 Kg by plot, giving 0% coverage (SC0), 25% (SC25), 50% (SC50), 75% (SC75) and 100% (SC100), respectively. The experimental plots were subjected to simulated rain with average intensity of 60 mm h -1 for 65 minutes. To avoid enrichment ratio (ER) of the sediment eroded by Psed, Pads and clay, a minimum soil surface coverage (SC) of 42% is necessary.

Resumo -O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar o efeito do recolhimento de quantidades variáveis da palha de cana-de-açúcar sobre sua decomposição na superfície do solo, após subsequentes socas. O experimento foi realizado por duas socas subsequentes, com a variedade de cana-de-açúcar RB-845210, tendo-se testado quatro quantidades remanescentes de palha após a colheita: 11,3, 8,5, 5,7 e 2,8 Mg ha -1 . Foram avaliadas as taxas de decomposição de biomassa, carbono, nitrogênio, celulose, hemicelulose e lignina, bem como a relação C/N e a quantidade de C e N mineralizada a partir da palha. O recolhimento variável da palha da canade-açúcar não alterou as taxas de decomposição da biomassa nem a mineralização de carbono, hemicelulose, celulose e lignina, em uma mesma soca. O processo de decomposição da palha não se esgota, mesmo após duas socas, independentemente da quantidade inicial de resíduo sobre o solo. A relação C/N e a decomposição da lignina servem como indicadores para verificar diferenças nas taxas de decomposição entre os níveis de palha avaliados, enquanto a decomposição da hemicelulose e da celulose somente detecta alterações nessas taxas ao longo do tempo. Em termos absolutos, quanto menor a retirada da palha do campo, maior a quantidade de carbono e nitrogênio mineralizada, mesmo que não haja diferenças na taxa de decomposição.Termos para indexação: Saccharum, estoque de carbono, mineralização do nitrogênio, qualidade do solo, relação C/N, taxa de decomposição. Decomposition of sugarcane straw collected at different rates after mechanical harvestAbstract -The objective of this work was to determine the effect of collecting different levels of sugarcane straw on its decomposition on soil surface, after consecutive ratoons. The trial was conducted for two consecutive ratoons, using the sugarcane variety RB845210, testing four amounts of remaining straw after harvest: 11.3, 8.5, 5.7, and 2.8 Mg ha -1. Decomposition rates of biomass, carbon, nitrogen, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin were evaluated, as well as the C/N ratio and the mineralized quantities of C and N from the straw. The distinct levels of sugarcane straw aboveground do not alter decomposition rates, neither do they alter the mineralization of carbon, hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin within the same ratoon. The straw decomposition process persists along the two ratoon cycles, regardless of the initial amount of straw on soil surface. The C/N ratio and lignin decay are adequate indicators for detecting differences of straw decomposition rates between the evaluated levels of straw, while hemicellulose and cellulose decay detects only differences in rates over time. In absolute terms, the lower the initial aboveground straw level, the higher the amounts of carbon and nitrogen mineralized, even if there are no differences in decomposition rates.

A identificação de padrões de variabilidade dos atributos do solo permite o uso e a ocupação do solo de maneira sustentável. O objetivo deste trabalho foi delimitar áreas de manejo específico utilizando ferramentas matemáticas, suscetibilidade magnética e modelos de paisagem. A área de estudo localiza-se no município de Guariba, SP. Escolheu-se uma área de 110 ha, onde foram identificadas e mapeadas três superfícies geomórficas (I, II e III). Na área, foram coletadas 204 amostras de solo em uma transeção, nas profundidades de 0,00-0,20 e 0,60-0,80 m. Foram determinados o pH em CaCl2, os teores de areia, argila, matéria orgânica, P, Ca, Mg, K, H+Al, e calculados SB, CTC e V. A suscetibilidade magnética (SM) foi medida com o auxílio de uma balança analítica. Os limites matemáticos da técnica Split Moving Windows Dissimilarity Analysis (SMWDA) utilizando as informações da suscetibilidade magnética ficaram próximos aos limites de campo identificados com base nos modelos de paisagem. A utilização conjunta da suscetibilidade magnética, dos modelos matemáticos e de paisagem permitiu identificar diferentes áreas de manejo, locais com diferentes teores de argila e níveis de fertilidade do solo. A susceptibilidade magnética pode ser adotada como alternativa para identificar e mapear unidades de manejo.
