“…En nuestra investigación observamos que del total de participantes sólo el 16,9% (368/2183) de mujeres peruanas de 40 a 49 años cuentan con mamografía de tamizaje. Este resultado dista a lo reportado en otros estudios en Perú, como el realizado en Sullana por Villacrés quien reportó que sólo un 7% se realizó una mamografía anual (12) ; asimismo, Alarcón en Comas, un distrito periférico de Lima, encontró un porcentaje menor al 8% de realización de mamografías (17) .
