Literature to date has well supported the detrimental consequences of bullying and school exclusion in different countries, with negative outcomes in school adjustment or child psychological adjustment, among others. However, more research is needed to understand the effects on positive indicators of psychological well-being in children as subjective happiness. Cross-national studies are also recommended to examine the differential effects by country. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine bullying and school exclusion, and their effects on child subjective happiness, from a cross-national perspective. Data from the Second Wave of Children’s Worlds: International Survey of Children’s Well-being (ISCWeB) was used, from a sample of 12,623 children aged 10 years old from 15 countries. Participants completed self-report measures of bullying, school exclusion and subjective happiness. Results showed that 20.8% of children suffered harassment and 17.6% felt excluded, twice or more times, at school. Negative effects of bullying and exclusion on subjective happiness were observed in all the sample. Furthermore, differences by country were found in the frequency of bullying and exclusion, as well as in the size of their effects on happiness. These results underline the need to protect child psychological well-being by preventing bullying and school exclusion.

El bullying es un fenómeno de enorme trascendencia en la actualidad y que debe estudiarse desde una perspectiva global más allá de las características de víctima y acosador. El objetivo del presente estudio es realizar una revisión sistemática del corpus científico que explora la relación entre los sistemas familiares y el surgimiento y mantenimiento del bullying, así como el impacto de este fenómeno en las familias. Se realizó una búsqueda en las principales bases de datos ERIC, Scopus, Dialnet e ISI Web of Knowledge rescatando una vez aplicados los criterios de inclusión y exclusión un total de 72 artículos. A tenor de los resultados, se apreciaron tres áreas temáticas principales: los estudios relativos a factores vinculados a la familia, favorecedores de bullying; las consecuencias que tiene dicho acoso en las familias y, por último, las diferentes medidas dirigidas a prevenir o erradicar este tipo de violencia.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue conocer el nivel de preparación de los futuros profesores de Educación Física frente a la violencia escolar. Este estudio responde a una metodología cuantitativa, no experimental y de corte transversal, donde se recopilaron datos para conocer la impresión de los futuros docentes mediante un cuestionario online a través de la herramienta Google Forms. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 217 estudiantes de último año de la carrera de Pedagogía en Educación Física de ocho instituciones formadoras chilenas. Los resultados indican que los profesores en formación identifican el bullying como un elemento que impacta negativamente en los aprendizajes de los estudiantes (98,6%), por otro lado, un 55,3% indica que no recibió formación específica para afrontar episodios de violencia escolar (VE). A su vez, el 48,4% indica poseer conocimientos sobre VE y el 60% se siente capacitado para identificar tipos de violencia física y verbal. Se concluye que es fundamental que el itinerario formativo tenga presente los conceptos de convivencia y VE para la formación inicial de profesores. The objective of this research was to know the level of preparation of future Physical Education teachers in the face of school violence. This study responds to a quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional methodology, where data was collected to know the impression of future teachers through an online questionnaire through the Google Forms tool. The sample consisted of 217 final-year students of the Pedagogy in Physical Education career from nine Chilean training institutions. The results indicate that teachers in training identify bullying as an element that has a negative impact on student learning (98.6%), on the other hand, 55.3% indicate that they did not receive specific training to deal with episodes of school violence (SV). In turn, 48.4% indicate having knowledge about SV and 60% feel capable of identifying types of physical and verbal violence. It is concluded that it is essential that the training itinerary take into account the concepts of coexistence and school violence for the initial training of teachers.
