Abstract:A 29-year-old female patient developed a dermolytic dermatosis after 2 years’ treatment with penicillamine for Wilson’s disease. The skin lesions were localized on skin areas exposed to trauma. Light and electron microscopic investigations showed alterations of all compartments of connective tissue. Patients unter long-term high-dose treatment with penicillamine should be closely monitored for cutaneous and systemic connective tissue disease.
