This paper aims to develop a conceptual model of the nexus of entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance in private daycare in Indonesia. This paper develops a conceptual model to look at the performance of daycare businesses in Indonesia based on a literature review by integrating relevant theories and logical reasoning. Based on the conceptual model, improving the performance of daycare business can be accomplished by the influence of the dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation in providing practical implications in the daycare business. This paper expands the literature on entrepreneurial orientation related to performance particularly in private daycare. It integrates entrepreneurial orientation with business performance.

This paper aims to develop a conceptual model of the nexus of entrepreneurial orientation, psychological capital, entrepreneurial strategy, and firm performance in private daycare in Indonesia. This paper develops a conceptual model to look at the performance of daycare businesses in Indonesia based on a literature review by integrating relevant theories (such as entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneurial strategies, and psychological capital) and logical reasoning. Research hypotheses are given to stimulate follow-up research. Based on the conceptual model, improving the performance of daycare business can be accomplished by the influence of the dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation, the role of business strategy mediation, and the moderation of psychological capital. It is hoped that empirical studies will be conducted to validate the relationship and interrelationships between related concepts and constructs in providing practical implications in the daycare business.

Abstrak Menjadi guru yang berkompeten merupakan sasaran yang harus dicapai semua guru tanpa terkecuali. Apalagi guru pada Taman Penitipan Anak, yang mempunyai tugas ganda yaitu mendidik dan mengasuh anak. Tanpa kompetensi, guru tidak dapat memberikan layanan terbaiknya. Sehingga, pengembangan perlu dilakuan oleh guru untuk mencapai kompetensi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan yang harus dilakukan guru untuk mencapai kompetensi guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian fenomenologi. Lokasi yang diteliti adalah TPA Sekar Purbalingga. Dengan subjek penelitian meliputi guru, kepala TPA, sekretaris yayasan, dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian tentang Pengembangan Kompetensi Guru di TPA Sekar Purbalingga, yaitu: 1) Pengembangan kompetensi yang dilakukan berkaitan dengan kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi profesional. kompetesi kepribadian, dan kompetensi sosial. 2) Berbagai pembinaan, pelatihan, dan supervisi yang dilakukan membuat guru dapat meningkatkan kompetensinya 3) Kegiatan pelatihan yang diikuti guru berasal dari dalam dan luar TPA, seperti pelatihan pada lembaga pendidikan lain maupun upgrading dan parenting yang diadakan TPA sendiri. Pembinaan dan supervisi yang diberikan pun dari kepala TPA dan juga yayasan. 4) Melalui pembinaan, pelatihan dan supervisi yang mengacu pada empat kompetensi, membuat TPA Sekar dapat meningkatkan kualitas guru dan kualitas layanan yang mereka miliki.
