Pengaruh Ketinggian Tempat Tumbuh Terhadap Kandungan Fitokimia dan Antioksidan Ekstrak Akar Sawi Langit (Vernonia cinerea L.)

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of altitude on the phytochemical and antioxidant content of sawi langit (Vernonia cinerea L.)  root. Sawi langit is a herbaceous plant that has potential as a medicinal plant. This plant can thrive in the tropics. In this study, sawi langit were taken from three altitudes, namely <400 masl, 401-800 masl and >801 masl in the Banyumas, central Java. The sample used was sawi langit root which was extracted using 3 types of solvents (methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexan… Show more

“…On higher temperature, as an extra defensive synergy toward the threats in the environment, the plant will produce more flavonoid as well [21]. The location's altitude can also affect not only the diversity but also the concentration of the chemical compounds that are contained in the species [22,23].…”

“…Extrak from an altitude of 200 masl produces stronger secondary metabolic compounds and accelerates the death process of S. frugiperda compared to altitudes of 500 masl and 800 masl. [22], states that occupancy with an altitude of <400 meters above sea level can produce optimal environmental conditions for making secondary metabolic in plants. The more extreme the environment, the higher the metabolic compounds produced by a plant, so the greater the effect on the speed of killing test pests.…”

“…The ant nest plant specimens used in this research were the tubers of ant nest plants native to Aceh, obtained from the tropical forests of Aceh Province, specifically from Aceh Besar (representing the lowland region) and Aceh Jaya (representing the coastal area). Lowland areas are defined as those with an altitude of <400 masl (meters above sea level, while the coastal Areas fall within the range of 401-800 masl (Lestari et al 2021). The sampling of these two specimens was based on their respective altitudes.…”
