This study examines the influence of government pricing policies in determining the selling price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) on the income of oil palm farmers. The research was conducted on oil palm smallholders in East Aceh who were determined based on convenience sampling. There are 100 oil palm smallholder respondents appointed to represent all oil palm smallholders in East Aceh. Data was collected using a questionnaire by taking samples of oil palm farmers in 10 districts in East Aceh. The question items are formed based on the indicators of each variable. This study was tested using multiple linear regression. The results of the study prove that the price policy issued by the government in determining cooking oil has a negative effect on the income of oil palm farmers. Palm oil farmers hope that the government's role will be more equitable in formulating price policies, so that prices tend to be stable and based on developments in world CPO prices. At present the role of the government tends to be perceived by farmers as none exist, the purchase price of FFB is mostly determined by the PKS factories in accordance with the wishes of large capital owners. There needs to be strong sanctions given to palm oil mill owners (PKS) when they tend to prioritize processing their own plantation products during large harvests compared to buying produce from community-owned oil palm planters. The results of this study provide theoretical implications about the importance of the government's role in increasing the income of oil palm farmers. Palm oil farmers need to always be accompanied by the government with regulations that not only benefit farmers but can also increase the economic growth of a region in the long term.

Pencapaian efisiensi ekonomi usaha kelapa sawit sangat ditentukan oleh skala pengusahaan lahan usahatani sawitnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kinerja usahatani dan rantai pasok TBS petani sawit pada pola mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Lokasi penelitian di sentra perkebunan kelapa sawit rakyat di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang, di Kecamatan Penawartama dan Gedung Aji Baru. Sampel petani sawit berjumlah 74 responden petani pola mandiri dan agen pedagang TBS yang terlibat dalam rantai pasok TBS. Analisis data kinerja usahatani ini menggunakan indikator produktivitas, harga, efisiensi biaya usahatani, dan pendapatan. Skala usaha dibedakan menjadi tiga klasifikasi yaitu skala usaha tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Analisis uji beda produktivitas, pendapatan dan skala usaha menggunakan Least Squares Differences (LSD). Rantai pasok menggunakan analisis model S-C-P (Structure, Conduct, dan Performance). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja usahatani sawit petani mandiri berbeda tingkat produktivitas dan pendapatannya pada skala pengusahaan lahan usahatani, antara petani berlahan sempit, sedang, dan luas. Pengusahaan lahan sawit menghasilkan perbedaan sangat nyata pada tingkat pendapatan sawit yang diterima petani pola mandiri pada skala usaha luas. Sementara tidak berbeda nyata di antara skala usaha sempit dan luas. Rantai pasok TBS (tandan buah segar) sawit melibatkan lembaga pemasaran yakni lapak dan agen sebagai perpanjangan lembaga pabrik kelapa sawit (PKS). Alur tataniaga TBS petani mandiri melibatkan banyak pihak perantara sebagai lembaga pasar, yakni dari petani- agen- lapak –perusahaan menimbulkan risiko harga yang rendah di tingkat petani. Penilaian kinerja pemasaran TBS menggambarkan kondisi ketidakpastian harga dengan cerminan tingginya rentang harga TBS di tingkat petani. Hal ini menempatkan kinerja pemasaran TBS belum berpihak kepada petani sawit mandiri.

Sustainability Analysis of Oil Palm Farming Business in Several Management and Types of Business Land in Kampar, Riau. Oil palm is one of the mainstay of export commodities and farmers' income, including cultivated on peat land. The use of peat land for agriculture is feared to threaten the sustainability of farming, mainly due to a decrease in environmental quality. Sustainability analysis of oil palm had objectives to assess the sustainability index of oil palm farming system from some of the plasma management of oil palm farmers and to to determine sensitive factors or leverage points as suggestions to improve the sustainability of oil palm farming system especially on peatlands. Through multidimensional scalling (MDS) analysis based on five dimensions such as economic, ecological, social, technological, and legal and institutional. MDS analysis was carried out on six management models of oil palm farming. The results of the analysis showed that the plasma management of oil palm farmers assisted by private companies (PT. Agro Lestari) on peatlands was the highest level of sustainability, which index sustainability was 60.2 or in a fairly sustainable category. Sensitive factors that can used as a determinant point of the sustainability of farming system, including market access , cultivated land area of farmers, and reasonable prices (economic dimension); maturity of peat land, and the existence of cover crops as ground cover plants (ecological dimension); negative oil palm issues, the role of farmer groups and availability of labor at the local level (social dimension); availability of road facilities (technology dimension); companion effectiveness, ease of licensing, and integration and contribution of existing institutions in the regions related to oil palm farming system (legal and institutional dimensions). Those sensitive factors were leverage points that need to be considered and encouraged in their implementation so that the sustainability of oil palm farming system continues to increase.
