Abstract: Oneofthemajoractivities oftransnational criminal organizations isprofit taking. Although a considerable portion of this come from dmg trafficking, other forms of transnational crime mayaccount fora significantly high percentage ofalltheillegal proceedsthatenter theglobal financial system. The problem for thesegroups, however, is thatthemoney derived from illicit proceeds has somehowto be made legitimate through the laundering process.
