Pemodelan Gempa Bumi Pembangkit Tsunami Di Wilayah Papua (Studi Kasus: Gempa Bumi Biak, 17 Februari 1996)

Abstract: Papua termasuk wilayah yang rawan terjadi tsunami. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang pemodelan tsunami untuk mengetahui karakteristik gempa pembangkit tsunami di wilayah Papua. Biak merupakan wilayah di Papua yang pernah terdampak tsunami. Tsunami Biak terjadi pada 17 Februari 1996 yang diakibatkan oleh gempa dari palung Guinea New di Utara dan sistem patahan Yapen geser di selatan dengan kedalaman gempanya yaitu 33 km dan magnitudenya 8,1 SR.
