Peer learning efficacy analysis on undergraduate software design course

Abstract: Knowledge sharing and peer learning are important characteristics for learning similar engineering topics, especially suitable for the learning in college. Software design is an advanced required course for software engineering departments. However, most students might have no enough incentives to learn it by themselves. To distinguish the performance of the peer learning, we adopted the peer learning in software design course to analyze the possibility of adoption. Our selected course was a junior major and he… Show more

“…Onwuegbuzie, A. J. et al argued that educational interventions have a more profound impact on teaching and learning outcomes, arguing for the importance of collecting and analyzing quantitative data to suggest strategies for better teaching and learning practices by analyzing the combined impact of educational interventions on teaching and learning [14]. Cheng, P. H. et al believe that knowledge sharing and cooperative learning are important features of classroom practice, focusing on exploring the factors that can stimulate students' motivation to learn and desire to practice in software design courses, and believe that cooperative learning can improve students' willingness to learn and practice to a certain extent [15]. Yixian, L. et al focus on the problems that exist in the computer network course of software engineering, combined with the practice theory, and proposed a method of computer network course reform to improve students' practical ability in software courses by increasing practice links [16].…”
