Modern volleyball game needs to develop new skills; those new abilities are spatial orientation and balance skills. Our research focused on discovering and testing balance and spatial orientation skills of 25 volleyball players from ACS Alpha Sports Team Sibiu, aged 10.22 ± 2.49 years. Two tests were used as research methods with initial and final evaluation, the Matorin test and the spatial orientation test. The results showed improved results from the initial to the final tests in both tests; significant differences were found in comparing right and left direction jumps. Conclusions highlighted the importance of developing spatial orientation in young volleyball players.

Modern basketball game is becoming more and more physical, and coaches have reoriented their view on building strong athletes with speed, strength, and accuracy. Jumping ability is used in many moves in basketball, from rebounding, defending, jump shoot, blocking till interception and offensive game. The vertical jump is the primary and essential skill in the jumping ability of a basketball player. Our research focused on the result of a questionnaire with 20 respondents that were coaches at different levels regarding the importance of vertical jump in the basketball game. The conclusions highlighted that vertical jump is considered necessary also for small players (point guard, shooting guard) and tall players (short forward, power forward, center), with emphasis on small players who have to compensate for their height with an excellent vertical jump; also the contribution of coordination and endurance, nutrition and appropriate rest periods can contribute decisively to the jumping ability. Also, between the methods of developing vertical jump was underlined the plyometric and circuit training.

The planning process in every domain represents the first fundamental process; also, the physical and sport activity needs meticulous planning of the activity so that the density of the physical lessons and the efficiency to be at a high level. Our study is based on a questionnaire undertaken by ten physical education teachers from Sibiu City regarding planning the PE activity, the efficiency of the methods used in planning the activity, and other essential problems that occurred in the process of planning the PE activity. The research found out that the planning activity must be changed and adapted to children’s new needs in teachers’ opinion. Also, the documents are often too many and sometimes useless occupying teachers’ time and not being so efficient. The research conclusions are that planning the PE activity is a significant activity and new ways of planning and new curriculum should be added, and many inefficient documents should disappear so that the teachers’ time is used more efficiently.
