Objectives: to analyze the scientific evidence on the strategies of active learning methodologies used in the training of nurses, as well as their contributions and obstacles in training. Methods: integrative literature review conducted with 33 selected articles in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Nursing Database, Scopus, Web of Science and Education Resources Information Center databases. Results: among the strategies, simulation, problem-based learning and flipped classroom were highlighted. The active search, the integration of theory and practice and group work were examples of contributions to the training of nurses. However, the lack of preparation of the actors and the lack of structural support contribute to the dissatisfaction of the students. Final Considerations: the active learning methodology places the student at the heart of the learning process, favors critical thinking and the ability to make decisions.

En este artículo se exponen, primeramente, diversas consideraciones teóricas en torno al concepto de aprendizaje activo y al significado del mismo en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en la universidad, para posteriormente presentar una experiencia educativa desarrollada en la asignatura Técnicas Cualitativas del Grado en Geografía y Ordenación del Territorio en la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (España), exponiéndose sus objetivos, contexto, procedimiento y resultados. Se utiliza como metodología rectora la de aprender haciendo, un aprendizaje presente en muchas de las técnicas activas que están transformando las aulas en la actualidad. En concreto, centramos nuestro análisis en el Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos Colaborativos (ABPC). Se concluye que el aprender haciendo mediante el ABPC facilita la obtención de competencias y de un aprendizaje contextualizado, da coherencia temática a la asignatura, incrementa la motivación, convierte al alumnado en el principal artífice de su aprendizaje, estimula la vocación investigadora y genera sentimiento de participación, colaboración y relevancia. La práctica desarrollada pone en valor la importancia de la tutorización, la evaluación continua, la coordinación docente y la temporalización de tareas como elementos importantes en el éxito educativo en la enseñanza universitaria.

This work aims to analyze and explain the didactic strategies used to achieve meaningful learning. The problem addressed here is the need to change traditional didactic teaching in higher education programs toward more meaningful learning-oriented approaches. It begins under the assumption that meaningful learning is created if students are given freedom and confidence, they can find their own answers and developing their knowledge, both in the classroom and in practical life. The method used is the analytical-descriptive one of the reviews of the literature of the main authors who have given rise to this approach, its elements and the didactic strategies used. The result of the analysis shows the need to move from traditional didact teaching in higher education programs toward more meaningful learning-oriented strategies. It is concluded that the design and implementation of didactic strategies focused on meaningful learning with the application of active didactic methodologies and strategies in meaningful learning processes depending on the context in which it takes place, obtains better results in the training of professionals. It is recommended that teaching in higher education should abandon traditional didactics and embrace more meaningful oriented teaching strategies.
