“…1 Splinter hemorrhages on multiple nails without any obvious trauma are indicative of systemic causes: not only IE, but antiphospholipid syndrome, vasculitis, and treatment with systemic tyrosine kinase inhibitors or hemodialysis. 2 However, to our knowledge, Janeway lesions or splinter hemorrhages due to noninfective endomyocarditis, such as eosinophilic endomyocarditis, have not been reported.…”

“…This noxious weed is also commonly known as carrot grass, congress grass, famine weed, star weed, Santa-maria and is responsible for the loss of crop productivity and various harmful human health issues such as hay fever, asthma, bronchitis, and contact dermatitis. 3,4 Partheniummediated allergies can be due to direct or indirect contact. 5 The allergens of P. hysterophorus are sesquiterpene lactones present in stem, leaves, flowers and pollens, and majorly concentrated in the trichomes of the plant.…”

“…Parthenium weed has negative effects on humans, both directly by impacting human health, and indirectly by affecting crop and livestock production (Adkins and Shabbir, 2014;Kaur et al, 2014). In humans, allergic reactions to parthenium weed can result in an acute form of contact dermatitis, bronchitis, asthma, and hay fever (Adkins and Shabbir, 2014;Kaur et al, 2014;Lakshmi and Srinivas, 2012;McConnachie et al, 2011). It is estimated that up to 73% of people are sensitive to parthenium weed with females being twice more sensitive than males (Khari and Kumar, 2018).…”
