The study investigated strategies that can be used to improve the collaboration between parents and teachers to improve the learners’ academic performance. The study followed the theory of Hoover-Dempsey and Sandler which shows that the involvement of parents is multidimensional, both at home and at school. This study followed a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Purposive sampling was used to select five parents and five teachers of three primary schools in Gauteng and Mpumalanga Provinces. Data collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were analysed using a thematic approach. The findings revealed that parental involvement influences learners because it contributes to holistic development, motivation and support for learning struggles. Moreover, it was found that teachers do not have the essential knowledge on how to involve parents. The study, therefore, recommends that there should be regular training to support teachers in effective collaboration with parents. Parents are essential in supporting their children's learning and development. Parental support to young learners include helping their children with homework, school projects, collaborating with the teachers, participating in school events and school governance. This study argues for strengthening an inclusive home-school partnership to effectively support their learners. The focus of this study was to explore the parents-school partnership in supporting children's learning. The research applied a qualitative approach using a semi-structured online interview questionnaire via Google forms. Fourteen (14) parents met the inclusion criteria, and interview forms were used in the analysis. The study found that most South African parents have minimal knowledge and understanding of how to support their children’s learning. There is a lack of communication and partnership between the school and home. This will ensure appropriate communication and participation of parents in the school activities. Schools should recognise that the South African context is diverse and should be inclusive in their policies to accommodate all parents. School governing bodies should be enabled to foster the relationship between the schools and parents since they are representative of the parents. The results showed that to strengthen the home-school partnership, schools must be conscious of applying principles that will advocate for inclusiveness and the recognition of the diversity of the parent population.

Orang tua dan sekolah adalah sebuah kemitraan di dunia pendidikan yang bekerja sama dalam mencapai tujuan bersama yaitu membantu para siswa agar berhasil dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendidikan anak di sekolah dasar dan bentuk kerjasama orang tua dengan guru dan sekolah dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang berkualitas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini ialah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data adalah studi kepustakaan dari artikel-artikel pada database Scopus dan Taylor & Francis Online. Hasil studi kepustakaan menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua yang kuat berhubungan dengan manajemen yang baik dan budaya pembelajaran yang kuat. Keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendidikan juga telah dikaitkan dengan berbagai hasil akademis yang positif, termasuk nilai nilai rata-rata yang lebih tinggi. Kemitraan antara orang tua dan guru menumbuhkan jejaring dukungan dalam memberikan kesempatan terbaik bagi siswa untuk berkembang di sekolah. Salah satu bentuk kegiatan kerjasama orang tua dan guru yang sudah berlangsung lama adalah forum pertemuan orang tua dan guru. Akan tetapi, ada kendala yang dihadapi yaitu seringnya terjadi pertemuan tanpa dialog antara orang tua dan guru.
