Na busca por melhores índices produtivos e parâmetros de qualidade na Caprinovinocultura, diversos estudos vêm sendo feitos em torno das parasitoses gastrintestinais que acometem os rebanhos e são tidas como o principal problema de cunho sanitário, podendo implicar na inviabilidade econômica da atividade. Diante desse cenário, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar, quantificar e intervir nas principais espécies que assolam os sistemas produtivos de caprinos e ovinos na região do Cariri, em especial no município de Monteiro-PB. Aproximadamente, cerca de 28 animais foram utilizados na pesquisa, de diferentes raças, e sob dois tipos de sistema de criação, intensivo e semi-intensivo, foi feito um raio x das condições desses animais como: escore corporal, pelagem, mucosa ocular, peso e coletas de fezes, além das condições do ambiente. Por meio do FAMACHA® foi possível identificar o grau de anemia e realizar o tratamento seletivo atrelado ao exame de OPG que fora realizado por meio das coletas de fezes e análise laboratorial, onde conseguimos mapear as espécies predominantes, identificá-las e determinar o vermífugo eficaz para o controle da proliferação desses parasitas e podemos perceber que as ações surtiram efeitos significativos, por meio de uma redução no número de ovos e o método do cartão FAMACHA®.
