However, we have now found two other characters more reliable in distinguishing Thelandros, namely, the position of the opening to the spicular pouch which is markedly postanal but which, in Parapharyngodon, opens into the cloaca, and the presence of pre-anal and adanal pairs of pedunculate papillae.…”
