Despite being operated on a small scale, Blue Swimming Crab (BSC), Portunus pelagicus fishery substantially contributes to Indonesia's fisheries as the country's third-largest export commodity after tuna and shrimp. The high of BSC’s demand led to pressure on its stock. Hence a conservation area is needed to be set up, in this study, was proposed using reproduction indicators. with the case study of BSC Stock in Keboromo Waters, Pati Regency, North Central Java. The samples were collected from 38 sampling points at a distance of 2-12 miles from the coastline during November-December 2022 using collapsible crab traps. A reproduction observation on female crabs was carried out on their carapace width and gonad maturity stage. The data then were analyzed for the percentage of egg-berried females (EBF), size at first maturity (Lm) and first captured (Lc), and their spawning potential Ratio (SPR). This study found that the mature crabs (GMS2) in November and December were higher than in other stages while the proportion of ovigerous females (EBF) in December was higher than in November. At several sampling points, the size at first captures (Lc) was higher than that at first maturity (Lm) indicating a decrease in resource stocks due to a delay in the recruitment process. SPR of 19% showed that reproductive potential should be maintained before recruitment is limited, therefore based on the existence of EBF in particular sampling points it is recommended three conservation areas as a temporary no-take zone in BSC fishing ground in Keboromo Watres, Pati Regency.

Abstrak Salah satu potensi perikanan laut adalah rajungan (Portunus pelagicus). Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) merupakan komoditas yang penting karena mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi dan permintaan pasar baik di dalam maupun luar negeri masih tinggi. Tujuan dilaksanakan praktik integrasi ini adalah untuk Menganalisis beberapa aspek biologi untuk mengetahui pola pertumbuhan sebagai acuan kajian stok rajungan di Pesisir Kabupaten Lampung Timur, Provinsi Lampung dan Mengetahui aspek perikanan di Pesisir Kabupaten Lampung Timur, Provinsi Lampung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan data praktik meliputi penentuan hubungan lebar bobot karapas, nisbah kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad, ukuran pertama kali tertangkap dan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad. Hasil praktik menunjukkan rajungan yang ada di pesisir Kabupaten Lampung Timur diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran sampel lebar-bobot rajungan sebanyak 1013 spesies dengan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Hasil nisbah kelamin P. pelagicus memperlihatkan bahwa 544 rajungan jantan (54%) dan 469 rajungan betina (46%) memiliki sex ratio 1:0.862. Persentase Tingkat kematangan gonad jantan (46%) dan betina (54%). Ukuran morfometrik nilai standar length at first maturity (Lm) yaitu 12.48 cm. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh nilai Lc Total sebesar 13.23 cm. Rajungan di Pesisir Kabupaten Lampung Timur biasanya ditangkap menggunakan alat tangkap Jaring Rajungan dan Bubu.Kata Kunci : Rajungan; Lampung Timur, Alat Tangkap

The aim of this study is to assess the population dynamics of medaka fish (Oryzias nigrimas) in Lake Poso. Three habitats of this fish were surveyed, including Watudilana waters, Tolambo village waters and Taipa village waters. Samples were collected at night using a petromax lamp to attract fish. The fishing gear used nets of 8 by 3 meters with a mesh size of 3 by 3 millimeters. A total of 685 individuals of medaka fish (Oryzias nigrimas) were used for population dynamics analysis. Standard length was used to compare the current size of the endemic medaka fish Oryzias nigrimas with its size 28 years ago, while total length was used to examine data on growth, mortality, exploitation rate, recruitment yield and potential reproductive ratio. The male to female sex ratio of this type of fish fluctuated each month, where females tended to be more abundant than males. The average length of this fish is smaller than the standard length in 1993. However, its average size is larger than the freshwater medaka species Oryzias asinua, Oryzias wolasi and Oryzias woworae from Southeast Sulawesi and Oryzias matanensis from Lake Sulaw Towuti. The mortality rate of the medaka fish Oryzias nigrimas is mainly caused by the presence of introduced species and overexploitation. Selectivity of fishing gear, especially by catching fish measuring more than 50.70 millimeters, is strongly recommended for the conservation effort of this fish species.
