“…In addition, bacteria of the genus Paracoccus were isolated from other various habitats, such as air (Xue et al 2017), soil (Sun et al 2015), sediment (Zhang et al 2019), seawater (Lyu et al 2021) and sediment of freshwater (Wang et al 2009). And they also exist in some plants (Rai et al 2020), animal species (Kim et al 2018; Lee et al 2019) and some extreme environments, such as hot spring (Ye et al 2020), plateau permafrost (Zhu et al 2013) and even oilcontaminated water (Zhang et al 2020b). Many Paracoccus spp.…”

“…To date, the genus Paracoccus has 77 validly published names (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/paracoccus) and Paracoccus denitrificans is the type species [1]. Previous studies have shown that the members of the genus Paracoccus are isolated from various environments like the wall of a show cave [5], a deep well with oil reservoir water [6], the rhizosphere of an orchid [7], horse blood [8], sea sand [9], marine sediment [2], forest soil [10], root nodules [11], sludge [12], tidal flat [13], mangrove [14] and a pig farm dust collector [15]. Members are Gram-negative, oxidase-positive and catalase-positive [16].…”
