“…The FTIR spectra of free thymol displayed characteristic peaks at 2873, 1622, 1587, and 1285 cm −1 , corresponding to anti-symmetric deformation of –CH 3 , stretching vibration of C=C, bending deformation of –CH 3 , and stretching vibration of C–O [20]. Major peaks ascribed to PLGA were observed at 1755 (C=O bending deformation) and 1088 cm −1 (C–O–C stretching) [15]. The FTIR spectra of thymol-loaded PLGA microparticles displayed both thymol and PLGA peaks at 2862, 1756, 1619, 1280, and 1094 cm −1 with minor shifts in wavenumber.…”

“…The release profiles of thymol-loaded PLGA microparticles in solution were analyzed spectrophotometrically as described by Zhang et al [15]. Briefly, 40 mg of microparticles were dissolved into 40 mL phosphate buffer solution (PBS, 0.15 M, pH 7.4) with 1% Tween-80.…”

“…Furthermore, Figure (c) reveals the major 2θ values of 27.76°, 28.94°, and 23.19° and it also introduces half‐crystalline nature which indicate the entrapped/encapsulation of LO and PTX component on polymeric micelle.Zhang et al., proposed PTX‐loaded PLGA microspheres also indicates good anti‐tumor efficiency. The free PTX was crystalline in nature after the drug was encapsulated on polymeric microspheres and then crystalline nature was reduced to semi‐crystalline nature of the compounds as it was readily diffused and drug was released fast at the release of tumor site …”

“…[56] Until now, systematic studies have only been performed with elongated particles, in particular rod-like filomicelles, which will therefore be the main topic of discussion in the section 4 and 5. “…Discoidal porous silica nanoparticles demonstrated a fivefold increased accumulation in breast tumor mass . Formation of PLGA nanoparticles demonstrating porous matrix and rough surface showed increased in vivo antitumor efficacy compared to nonporous, smooth PLGA particles, owing to their high drug loading and high dispersion in tumor sites . Until now, systematic studies have only been performed with elongated particles, in particular rod‐like filomicelles, which will therefore be the main topic of discussion in the section 4 and 5.…”
